Lingual Planet
Two places to practise

Language is something you learn by using it.

You have studied for years. You can read it, and you could probably pass a test on it. Then somebody asks you a question, and it all goes quiet. That silence is what this place is for. From the very first minute, you talk — and somebody talks back.

Take a look

Which one is yours?

Two different lives, two different rooms. Neither one is a smaller version of the other.

MedicomSkills

For the conversations that matter most

There is a moment in every consultation where you have to say something difficult, and there is nowhere to hide. Practise that moment here, as often as you like, with a patient who is patient. Take the history. Explain what happens next. Write it up. Nobody is watching, and you can always go again.

  • Patient interviews, and the history you get out of them
  • Examination, investigations, and working out what is wrong
  • Notes, handovers and case presentations
  • Timed OSCE circuits, when you are ready for them

Made for Medical students, doctors, and clinicians who trained in one language and now work in another

English Academy

For everything you have not been able to say yet

Ten places to practise, and one memory that keeps all of it, so nothing you do here is wasted. If there is a test date in your calendar, your everyday practice counts towards it. If there is not, nobody is going to nag you about one.

  • Reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Words and grammar that come back before you forget them
  • TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and OET, if you need them
  • A plan built out of what you have actually done

Made for Anyone, at any level — from your first few words to the week before the test

The same idea, whichever door you take

You get to finish the sentence

Nobody stops you halfway through to fix a verb. You say the whole thing, you get understood, and only afterwards do the two of you look at how it went. Being corrected mid-sentence is how people learn to stop speaking.

You can trust what it tells you

Every number here is something you did, counted. Where something cannot be measured honestly, we say so rather than invent a score that looks convincing. You will never be flattered by this site, and you will never be fooled by it either.

It meets you where you are

This page arrived in your language without you having to ask, and the rest of it will too. Working out what to click should never be the hard part. The English gets harder as you get better; everything around it stays quiet.
