MedicomSkills is operated by Nuphoria, in Japan. When these terms say “we” or “us”, that is who they mean. When they say “you”, they mean the person using the site.
By making an account you agree to what is on this page. If you do not agree with something here, please do not use the site — and please tell us why, because we would rather fix it.
MedicomSkills gives you a place to practise clinical communication. You talk to a simulated patient, examine them, reason about what you found, and get feedback on how you did.
You need to be at least 16 years old to make an account by yourself. If your school or university sets up an account for you, they are responsible for having the right permissions.
Your account is yours alone. Please do not share your password or let somebody else work under your name. Your teacher sees your work as yours, so somebody else using your account makes their picture of you wrong.
Keep your email address up to date. It is how we reach you about your subscription, and it is how you get back in if you forget your password.
Please do not put real patient information into MedicomSkills. Not a name, not a date of birth, not a hospital number, not anything that could identify somebody. The cases here are invented, and they should stay that way.
Please also do not try to break the site, get into other people’s accounts, copy the case material for use elsewhere, or use automated tools to pull content out of it.
Some parts of MedicomSkills need a subscription. Who pays depends on how you joined:
Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the seller of record. That means your contract for the payment itself is with Paddle, and their name appears on your receipt. Prices, cancellation and refunds are set out on the pricing page and the refund page.
We work to keep the site running and the feedback useful, but we cannot promise it will always be available or always be right. Some of it depends on services we do not control, and simulated patients sometimes say something a real one would not.
Because this is practice software and not a clinical tool, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us. We do not accept responsibility for decisions made about real patients. Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of your own country.
The cases, criteria, feedback material and the site itself belong to us. You may use them to learn. You may not republish them, sell them, or use them to train another system.
What you write stays yours. We use it to give you feedback, to show your teacher your work if you are in their class, and to improve the platform.
You can stop at any time from your account page. You can also ask us to delete everything, and we will. If we ever have to close an account — for sharing a password, or for putting real patient data into the site — we will tell you why first, unless we are not allowed to.
If we change something important here, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Small corrections we will just make, and the date at the top of this page will change.
