Cancelling and refunds

How to stop paying, what happens to your work, and when we give money back.

This document is still a draft. It has not yet been checked by a lawyer. It describes accurately what MedicomSkills does, but it should not be relied on as final legal wording. Please write to us if anything here concerns you.

Stopping

You can cancel at any time from your account page. It takes one click and you do not have to write to anybody or explain why.

Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep everything until the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not cut you off the moment you cancel.

What happens to your work

When you cancel we ask you one question: keep your work, or delete it.

Keeping it means your consultations, feedback and progress are waiting if you come back. Deleting it means all of it goes, and we cannot get it back afterwards. Nothing is deleted unless you choose that.

Refunds

Money back, in these situations:

  • Within 14 days of your first payment, for any reason at all, if you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union. This is your legal right and we do not ask questions.
  • If the site was broken for a meaningful part of the time you paid for.
  • If you were charged twice, or charged after cancelling.
  • If you paid for a year and something happens that means you genuinely cannot use it, write to us. We would rather sort it out than keep money from somebody who is not getting anything.

How to ask

Write to contact@lingualplanet.com with the email address on your account. You do not need an order number, although it helps if you have one.

Payments are taken by Paddle, who are the seller of record, so a refund is issued by them and appears on the card or account it came from. It usually takes between three and ten working days to show up, depending on your bank.

Institutions

Institutional agreements are invoiced separately and their cancellation terms are in the agreement itself. If you are a student at an institution, you are not paying anything and there is nothing here for you to cancel.

If we cannot agree

Write to us first — almost everything is settled that way. If it is not, nothing on this page removes the rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in, including the right to take it further.
